DISNEY’S LIVE-ACTION MOVIE THE LION KING ACTIVITY SHEETS AND PACKET

Are you a fan of The Lion King? If you have ever visited my site, you may know that not only are we Disney fans, but we absolutely love animated movies. My 14-year-old autistic son affectionately known as Jack-Jack memorizes movie lines and loves to recite them any chance he gets. We love everything about the animated Lion King from Timon, Pumba, the music, especially Penn-syl-va-nia. (You know you hear it too). But when Disney decided to make a live action movie, I had my doubts. However, I am always one to keep an open mind when it comes to Disney movies. They are fantastic storytellers, and it seems like they can charm even a die-hard original fan like me. THE LION KING STORYLINE:

Disney’s “The Lion King,  is directed by Jon Favreau. In this movie, we journey to the African savanna where a future king is born to King Mufasa. But not everyone is happy about Simba’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother, hatches a plan to take over the throne.

Simba love his father, King Mufasa. He knows what his destiny is, but he is headstrong and a little too big for his britches. When Scar makes his move to overtake Pride Rock, the tragedy results in Simba running from his home.

Simba finds new friends in Timon and Pumbaa, an unlikely pair of friends. Eventually, Simba is faced with returning home to reclaim his throne.

The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon.

Disney’s “The Lion King” roars into theaters on July 19, 2019. Blu-Ray and DVD release date is estimated for November 2019.

THE ANIMATED LION KING:

Disney’s animated movie was released on June 24, 1994. My older children loved this movie, but especially Timon and Pumbaa. Do you remember the Timon & Pumbaa Jungle Games? We used to play on the computer, and this game had Bug Drop, Jungle Pinball, Burper, Hippo Hop (a frogger type game), and Shooter.

MERCHANDISE TO PREPARE FOR THE RELEASE OF THE LION KING:

While preparing for the release of The Lion King, you will want t-shirts and maybe some toys. My family loves to wear our Disney t-shirts to the movies.
