WHAT IS DISNEYBOUNDING

(AND HOW TO SAVE MONEY FOR DISNEY)

My family loves to visit Walt Disney World, but in order for us to visit as often as we do, I need to save money on every day items. Do you want to know my secret on How I Save Money for Disney while dressing as my favorite characters? What is Disneybounding and how does this save money for Disney? 

WHAT IS DISNEYBOUNDING?

The short answer is Disneybounding is dressing as your favorite characters utilizing street clothes. If you are under the age of 13 and visit Walt Disney World Resort, you can wear a costume of your favorite characters, but costumes are prohibited in the parks for anyone over the age of 14. Blogger Leslie Kay came with the idea of wearing clothes from your closet to emulate your favorite characters.

My family has embraced the art of using regular clothes to capture the essence of our favorite character. In fact, I have been known to dress up even when we aren’t traveling to a Disney park. Instead of buying expensive t-shirts or outfits, I save money by piecing together outfits to represent my favorite characters.

By combining clothes I already own with clothes I purchase, I have been known to come up some great “costume-like outfits.” Here are some of the awesome outfits that I have pieced together through the years.

 

I have been known to Disneybound around town just for fun. I get an added kick out of it when people say, “Your outfit reminds me of Joy from Inside Out.” Plus it allows me to go outside my comfort zone and wear colors and combinations I would not normally wear.

For those non-Disney fans (if that is even a thing), these same principles can be used to create outfits for characters outside the Disney universe too. I would love to see photos of the outfits you create.
