Barbie Parties, Birthday Parties, Baby Showers, and Just Because
Whether you are having a baby shower or want a Barbie party for little girls, the color pink is so pretty and dreamy. After seeing the Barbie movie, I started to think how beautiful a pink party could be and came up with a reason to have one. These best pink party ideas are pretty and dreamy, and this is an easy way to invite people over for no special occasion.
Honestly, my idea was to host a Barbie party for my granddaughters so they could dress up and watch some Barbie cartoons because the Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling was too adult for my little granddaughters. However, the more I thought about it, the more I thought we could also watch The Pink Panther cartoon. That is always great entertainment.
You can do this same theme with your closest friends. A Pink Themed party is never a bad idea!
BEST PINK PARTY IDEAS
First, I love pink. It isn’t my favorite color, but it is a pretty color. And with all the various shades of pink, there are enough pinks to keep everyone happy.
The Pink Party Instructions:
If you are going to have an awesome pink party, one of the best ways to do this is to have all your guests wear pink (even the guys). My husband has a light pink polo, my son Marcus has a salmon-colored tropical shirt, and I purchased a Hamm shirt for Jack-Jack. Even my youngest grandchild got a new pink outfit. This was a great way to get everyone excited about the color pink.
Obviously, all the food has to be pink too! If you want your friends or family to bring something, consider having people bring pink candies or pink desserts. You never know what you will get.
The Pink Food:
Pink is a little harder for the food, so we used shades of red too! Our pink party food included:
Pasta with Pink sauce. Start with spaghetti sauce and add half and half and heavy whipping cream. Toward the end of heating the sauce, add some grated Parmesan cheese. Oh, so delicious!
We also had cold strawberry soup. This is a delight, and everyone loves it. You can find the recipe here!
I made ham and cream cheese roll-ups and sliced them into “bite-sized pieces.” I also made salami stacks with cream cheese and cut them into triangles.
The Drinks:
Pink Lemonade is easy and fun. However, you can also do a pink punch with 7-Up or Sprite with raspberry punch or strawberry ice cream.
Raspberry Punch Recipe:
1 Bottle of Sprite
A few splashes of grenadine
2 cups of Pink lemonade
Raspberry sherbet
Strawberry-Lemonade Ice Cream Punch
Bottle of 7-Up
3 cups pink lemonade
Lemons cut in slices to float in a punch bowl
Strawberry Ice Cream
I also purchased pink Bubly and sparkling water. I got grapefruit and Cherry Blossom. The cans sitting out looked pretty.

The Dessert Table
Some easy ideas for a dessert table include:
A Candy Bar: Have everyone bring a different type of pink candies. Remember, include pink bubble gum, pink pixie sticks, pink and red Starbursts, pink M&M’s.
A Cookie Bar: Same concept as a candy bar, but with pink cookies – pink M&M cookies, Pink lemonade cookies, pink iced thumbprint cookies, pink iced sugar cookies. Include pink macarons.
We had cupcakes in shiny pink liners with pink frosting. Yummy and adorable. Additionally, I added pink cotton candy. This cotton candy machine is a great addition to our family.
If you have a birthday party theme, you may want a pink birthday cake. However, you can also do cookies or a candy bar. Make sure to have pink ice cream – strawberry, raspberry, or cotton candy.
The Pink Decorations:
This was really super easy. First, I assessed what I already had – no pink items, but some white bowls, clear glass bowls, and ivory serving bowls.
Then, I went to Dollar Tree and bought pink tableware: pink tablecloths, pink plates, utensils, napkins, and cups. I bought some items in pink and hot pink (magenta) to add depth to the color scheme. The color pink just added a touch of class to my kitchen right away. The good news is that it was so inexpensive, and the party table looked so festive!
Another idea is to purchase white with pink polka dots. These were easy to find too.
You can purchase some pink balloons for decorations or to make a balloon garland. I opted to go simple with pink flowers for the table and the island. My husband purchased the fresh flowers at the grocery store, and these flower arrangements were so pretty.
I also purchased a couple of pink platters at Dollar Tree. The majority of my serving dishes were either clear glass or ivory. You can also use white if that is what you have. You can also buy a couple pink candles and place them on silver chargers or mirrors for some bling. Add some pink candies around candles for a fun way to decorate your tables.

The Entertainment:
Consider a photo backdrop for guests to take photos. You want a coordinating color so your guests don’t get washed out in a pink backdrop. Silver is pretty, as is darker blue. If you want a photo booth vibe make sure to have plenty of props,
including feather boas and pink sunglasses. You can decorate the backdrop by making balloon walls or pom poms made of tissue paper.
For a baby shower or a bridal shower, you can play traditional games. For more baby shower ideas, check out How to Host a Baby Shower that will be the Talk of the Town.
Another great idea is playing some Barbie movies. For a complete list of movies, in order check out this list. It is so much fun for girls of all ages to see how Barbie movies have changed over the years.
If you don’t have Barbie fans in attendance, consider playing Pink Panther cartoons, watching Pretty in Pink, or some other “pink-themed movie.” Hosting a movie night with your pink party will make your house the favorite party house!
Another great pink party idea is to sing pink Karaoke songs. I have listed some of my favorite songs that have the word pink in them.
