Exciting Family Travel Vacations

While many families love to travel with their children, it can be daunting to the inexperienced traveler. When you think about going on a trip with your kids, you may start to think about all of the stress that’s going to come with family travel vacations. So you may find yourself sticking to the simple trips, in the all-inclusive resorts that have the kid’s pool section. And while this makes traveling much easier, you and your family are missing out on so much of the world out there to explore that you could easily do with a family.

It’s good for your children to see many cultures of the world from a young age and really have some great traveling experience. But if you’re not really sure how far you’d be willing to go, I am here to inspire you. I’ve got some excellent family destinations and some cool things that you can do while you’re there. Keep on reading, and see if you can book a last-minute family trip to one of these locations!

Getting Out In Nature

Nature is something you find children aren’t getting to enjoy as much as other generations. They’re growing up inside the home with the technological era, but travel is the chance to change all of that. This type of trip is probably going to suit those of you with children who are slightly older, but they don’t necessarily have to be teenagers. The Andes is one of the best areas of the world to explore if you really want to experience nature, and there are some great excursions that will help to make that possible. Adventure travel with your family is going to make for such a good trip. It’s a way of getting active, experiencing the true parts of a country and for many families, it is so much better than sitting by a pool. It’s definitely great for making memories.

Another way to explore nature close to home is by visiting the National Parks. Each park offers unique sights and areas to explore. From the redwood forests to the Gulf Stream waters, this land was made for you and me! (Cheesy, I know). My family has enjoyed just some of the National parks the United States has to offer. From the home of our second president, John Adams National Historic Park, to the Castillo de San Marcos (the fort in St. Augustine), to the wood turned to stone in the Petrified Forest. Each park gives you priceless memories.

Getting Out To Sea

This is another great journey to take if you’re interested in seeing parts of the world that you would perhaps not go on a trip to, but you’d like to have as a family experience. One of the best things about a cruise is that whether you’re at sea or docked at a destination, they will always cater for adventure. A lot of cruise lines have wave simulators, pools, slides, and all sorts of things to do inside. I would definitely recommend a Carribean cruise because it’s just the perfect mix of relaxation, beautiful locations, and fun things to do. From jet skiing to riding in buggies, you’ll most likely be able to do it all on your cruise!

I have personally been on 3 cruises. I actually thought I would sit on the deck and read during my cruises, but I actually had almost no downtime. Disney Cruise Lines definitely know how to entertain and give you a magical experience. While I was quite worried about my autistic son Jack-Jack going on a cruise, my children loved our Disney cruise. Jack-Jack had the time of his life, and it was a great vacation for him. I know another Disney cruise is in our future.

The other cruise line I have traveled on is Carnival. Just like the Disney cruise, there is plenty of options to be entertained, and this cruise line is a much more affordable option for many families.

Getting On The Roads

The final idea that we have that is usually a hit with a lot of families, is to go down the road trip route. A road trip is one of the best ways to see different parts of a country, even if it is your own, without having to pay too much money. You could go for two weeks and camp in different locations, and it could be so much fun! Camping is good if you get the right site as well because many of them offer a lot of outdoor activities.

Our family has had the pleasure of traveling Route 66, and that was a lot of fun. Traveling from one part of the country to another on the open road was an experience my children will never forget. From the Jack-Rabbit Trading Post to seeing real cowboys riding on the range, seeing the country from your car is exciting and allows you the freedom to explore those areas of interests that will fascinate your children. Make sure to plan for plenty of car games while driving to help keep you and your kids entertained and engaged in the landscape.

Whatever type of vacation destination you choose, make sure to follow my tips for having a magical vacation. As parents, we tend to spend so much time planning and wanting our trips to be perfect that if they aren’t we get disappointed. The most important aspects of traveling are being with family, spending quality and quantity time together, and making memories that last a lifetime.
