KEEPING IT TIDY ON TUESDAYS

How many times have you attempted to organize your life? How many different cleaning or decluttering programs have you started and failed? If you are like me the “clean your sink every night” is just not a doable system. At the end of the day I am just too exhausted to clean out the sink!

Do you live in your house all day long? Are your kids underfoot? Keeping a household looking clean and tidy with everyone around just seems impossible.

Some days I feel like I live in a barn. I stick to the floor, and nothing is clean or organized. Now my house never looks like a pigsty, but when it is disorganized and cluttered I do begin to feel overwhelmed. And at those moments I have tried to start a “Declutter Your House in 32 Days,” but it really wasn’t the clutter that is causing the problem. I have finally identified the problem.

There is a quote from the Disney movie The Incredible’s that resonates with me. “No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again. Sometimes I just want it to stay saved! You know, for a little bit? I feel like the maid; I just cleaned up this mess! Can we keep it clean for. . .ten minutes!”
The problem is our system of trying to “keep it clean” is a self-defeating one. My desire is to look for ways to reduce the mess before it happens. Join me each Tuesday as we embark on a journey to reduce mess and “keep it clean for 10 minutes.” I will post a tip or two that will help you keep your household running smoothly. As a mom of 5 children and 3 grandkids I am always looking for ways to 1) reduce the mess and 2) streamline the cleaning.

If I can stop dishes from being used, clothes from needing washed, and the house from getting out of order, I will save myself so much time in cleaning each week – AND I hate cleaning!

So each Tuesday I will share tips with you. We all know that trying to make major changes never work, but if we can change one or two things a week, maybe we can combat this overwhelming chore we call housework.

Click here to follow me on Facebook and if you have a tip you think the rest of us can use, please post it. If I use your tip, I will enter you into a drawing to be held at the end of each month. I will announce the May prize next week.
And if you have a product you would like me to highlight that you think would be helpful in our Tidy Tuesdays, contact me at [email protected]!

I look forward to seeing you next Tuesday!

I've read so many of those "cleaning systems" posts and yes, never can really consistently follow them. Although they're great for little nuggets of truth, ultimately I'm using what works for me in the season I'm in 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing! Look forward to hearing more.
