Paw Patrol on a Roll – Again

First, the Paw Patrol movie was rated G, but this sequel is rated PG. It appears that Paw Patrol wants to attract an older audience for this film. So before seeing it, it is even more important to know the content of this film. In this Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie Christian Movie Review, I give you the information you need before viewing this movie with your children.

Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie Christian Movie Review

Studio Synopsis:

When a magical meteor crash lands in Adventure City, it gives the PAW Patrol pups superpowers, transforming them into The MIGHTY PUPS! For Skye, the smallest member of the team, her new powers are a dream come true. But things take a turn for the worse when the pup’s arch-rival Humdinger breaks out of jail and teams up with a mad scientist to steal the superpowers for the two villains. With the fate of Adventure City hanging in the balance, the Mighty Pups have to stop the supervillains before it’s too late, and Skye will need to learn that even the smallest pup can make the biggest difference.

My Synopsis:

Super villain and mad scientist Victoria Vance, is out to steal a meteor, but when she is caught by the Paw Patrol Pups, she is put in jail. Her cellmate is none other than Mayor Humdinger who was the villain in the original Paw Patrol movie.

When Skye discovers the secret of the meteor that gives all the pups, except Liberty, unique powers, these crystals help to create The Mighty Pups. The two criminals break out of jail and work together to steal the crystals that were housed in the meteor to harness their powers for themselves.

Christian Review of Paw Patrol 2: What Parents Want to Know

Language:

While there is no foul language, there are a few lines that may bother some parents such as “We don’t need no stinking break.”

In addition, Mayor Humdinger says, “I hate free and fair elections.”

There is also a quote made about “social media.”

Violence:

The beginning of the film features a couple being padlocked inside a trailer at a junkyard while the villain steals the junkyard’s 10-ton magnet. They call on Paw Patrol to save them. There is fire around them, but Paw Patrol saves the day.

Later a meteor hits the Adventure City, including the Paw Patrol tower.

One human character hits another character.

The PG rating is due to the meteor destruction and explosion.

Spiritual Content:

In one brief scene, there is a yoga class.

Additionally, the meteor holds crystals that have magical powers. The powers are specific to each human or dog. For example, Skye flies, and Marshall (the fire truck pup) can create fireballs.

Other Content:

In one scene, Skye sneaks out to “save the day” and ends up causing more problems.

When tunneling out of prison, Mayor Humdinger’s butt is shown close up.

There is rampant consumerism involved with this movie. While Spin Master is the toy company that produces the line of toys for Paw Patrol, they are also involved in the production of the movie. The Paw Patrol Aircraft Carrier was originally $130 but can currently be purchased at a discount. Almost all the gadgets and vehicles in this latest movie are new.

Positive Content:

Much of this movie is centered around the theme of “No rescue is too big; no pup is too small.” In fact, Skye is the littlest pup and was the runt of the litter. Because she is the smallest and hasn’t grown, she feels inferior and puts herself in dangerous situations to prove her worth.

Liberty doesn’t have mystical powers, and she is left behind to pup sit for the newest recruits, the Junior Patrollers, Nano, Mini & Tot. While she is originally bummed, she comes to love her new assignment and works to train the Junior Paw Patrol team.

There is also plenty of rhyming going on, such as “Lean, mean fluffy little rescue machines.” And “I feel the need for super speed.”

Christian Review of Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie – My Viewing Recommendations

This movie is as cute and adorable as the original Paw Patrol movie. However, since this movie is rated PG, it appears that it is geared toward a little older audience. While I don’t think there are many scenes that would bother the youngest kids, there are a few explosions. Additionally, there is one scene where it appears that one of the pups may have been killed. Don’t worry, everything is fine. But if you have a sensitive child, they may be worried.

While I almost fell asleep at one point, the kids in the audience loved this movie. Overall this movie has very little content to worry parents. Additionally, with the announcement of a third movie in 2026, you have more Paw Patrol on a Roll to look forward to!
