THEME PARK:

WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT:

Within WDW Resort, there are several places to encounter Aladdin or Aladdin themed attractions. In Adventureland located in Magic Kingdom, the attraction “The Magic Carpets of Aladdin” is a Dumbo-like ride, but you sit in “magic carpets”. Furthermore, Agrabah is an exotic marketplace that sells Aladdin and Arabian-themed items in the vicinity of The Magic Carpets.

You can also meet Aladdin and Jasmine near the Agrabah market, and there is a Jasmine meet and greet in Morocco at Epcot.

You may be able to find Jasmine at Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. She may also appear at Cinderella’s Royal Table Dining in the Castle, or at Akershus, Norway in Epcot. Check the time’s guide to see who is scheduled. Make sure to check out my previous post on the Differences Between Disney’s Aladdin (animated) and the original story 1001 Nights.

Additional Information:

While this film follows a similar storyline as the original there are major differences. The plot still follows Aladdin as a street urchin falling in love with Princess Jasmine. He finds a Genie who grants him 3 wishes. Jafar wants to be an all powerful sorcerer. However, there are entirely new songs, and probably the best one is when Jasmine sings Speechless. There are new recordings of the original songs – I love the original ones the best!

The live-action movie features the self-determined Princess Jasmine played by Naomi Scott. In this version, it really is a whole new world as Disney erases cultural norms and makes it seem normal for a woman to be outspoken. Jasmine as the sultan’s daughter would not have had the freedom to speak so openly. However, this vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney Aladdin is sure to delight young and old. Additional film stars include Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen, and Numan Acar.

The Director of the animated version was John Musker and Ron Clements and the director of the live-action was Guy Ritchie from a script that was co-written with John August.

More Facts about Disney Aladdin

The animated movie was released November 25, 1992. The music was done by famed composer Alan Menken, and it was produced by Walt Disney Pictures. Menken also did the musical score for The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, and many more. He also is an eight-time Academy Award winner.

The Live-action release date was May 24, 2019.

Make your own flying magic carpet! Kids will love to use their imagination as they take a magic carpet ride over the fictitious port city of Agrabah and into the Cave of Wonders.

Can anyone really fill the shoes of Robin Williams from the Original Aladdin? Although, Will Smith did a good job of portraying the loveable blue Genie, let me know who you think was the better Genie!
