I always thought buying for adult men was hard, and then I had sons. I live in a world full of men and boys. Besides clothes, I am always at a loss for what to buy for my sons. This year I have stumbled upon several items that I think will be great for my younger boys. Marcus is turning 17 and Jack-Jack is 15. However, I have yet to find the perfect gifts for my adult sons. That is for another list in another post!

1) Buddha Board – I came across this while I was out of town a few months ago. Dash expressed interest in it, and luckily I remembered. It is a a drawing board that comes with board, brush and stand. While you draw with water, your image gently fades away allowing you to keep creating new and unique designs. My son played with it and loved it. It really is a relaxing and soothing way to paint! (NO MISTAKES).

2) ANKI Overdrive Starter Kit – This race car system is controlled with your mobile device. My husband showed me this, and I decided my kids should have it. The only thing is that my kids don’t know they want it yet. Dash is definitely a hands-on kid and needs to see something to determine if he wants it.
3) Gyro Quadcopter with Camera – Because everyone needs a drone to terrorize the siblings. Nothing else needs to be said!!!
4) Ticket to Ride – This board game is a take-off of the book Around the World in 80 Days. In the Original Version, you and your opponents are in a race to see how many states you can visit in 7 days. This award winning game has been on my list to get, and I finally think this is the year. In addition, there is a Europe version and expansion packs.
5) Laser Maze Logic Game – We already own this game. I play it myself. You are given a puzzle to solve and you must place the pieces on the board so that when you press the laser button on the first piece, the last piece will light up. It comes with 60 challenge cards.
6) Swingy Thing – This colorful toy will be hours of fun for everyone. I anticipate this will be the toy of the year. It is composed of spinners and dippers, and challenges to master, but the beauty is that you can have fun on all your own. Can you make them swing in different directions?
7) Boogie Board Jot – Both my younger boys have Boogie Boards. This board is like having 5000 sheets of paper! Simply draw on the board with the stylus, and when you are done, press a button and your drawing is gone. We use these for writing notes, drawing pictures, math homework, etc. Dash (12 year old) tells everyone about his Boogie Board. If you don’t have one, you should!
8) Klutz LEGO Chain Reaction Kit – Who doesn’t love to play with LEGOS? With this Klutz book and Lego parts you can build and design moving machines. Adds even more hours of fun to your Legos.
9) Gyrobot Gyroscopic Robot Kit – Did you know that both airplanes and smart phones use gyroscopes. Boys love spinning toys; so do I. This looks sooooo cool. Build 7 different robots and learn about gyroscopes at the same time.
10) Super Mario Maker – Okay, so I have one video game on here because Dash asks for this every day! Create and play the Mario levels in your dreams!
These are my top 10 picks for this year. Do you have any I missed? Drop me a line and let me know as I am always looking for new and exciting toys for the boys in my life.
