REASON #10: You Are Tired of Packing Lunches

Look, I get it. Packing lunches gets boring. Sure it would be easier to just send your children to school and let them get whatever the cafeteria is serving. But let’s face it, you want your children to have nutritious lunches, and the act of actually placing the lunch in their lunch bag is just too much for you. You don’t even mind putting their lunch on a plate, but the lunchbox or bag has pushed you to your limit.

REASON #9: Wearing a Bra Every Day

After you hit a certain age, wearing a bra feels like being in a straitjacket. Getting completely dressed every day is just not for you. If you keep your kids home, you will only have to wear a bra on the library and music lesson days.

REASON #8: The Thought of Grocery Shopping Alone is Horrifying

Imagine never hearing, “Mommy, I want…,” in the grocery store again. You have gotten so accustomed to taking your children to the grocery store on every visit, and you are sure that you will miss them when you send them off to school.

REASON #7: You Can’t Wait for the Homeschool Parent-Teacher Conferences

Homeschooled Parent-Teacher conferences are the best. When you home school, you can have a parent-teacher conference anytime you feel you need someone to talk to. And the teacher-principal conferences can be quite fun too.

REASON #6: Science Experiments

Science Experiments on Every Countertop. We all know that teacher’s love to do science experiments. Why do they get to have all the fun? You can have fun too with all the science-filled containers on your table and your counters. And don’t forget to include those science experiments lurking in the back of your refrigerator.

REASON #5 TO HOMESCHOOL: Having Libraries and Museums to Yourself

You get to visit the Library, Museums and Tourist Destinations any time you like. Visiting museums in the summer is horrible. Do you want the beach to yourself? The best time to visit is in September right after the other kids go back to school.

REASON #4: A Conversation Starter at Holiday Gatherings

The holidays have become boring. You will now have a great conversation starter. You will grow to love hearing from all your relatives how you are messing up your kids. From the moment you homeschool until the day your child receives the Nobel Peace Prize, you will have conversations that involve you hearing why you should put your children in school. If you love to hear from relatives how you should be raising your kids, there is no better way to do this than beginning to homeschool.

REASON #3: Career Day All Year Long

Another great reason to homeschool is wanting to give your children an interactive career day all year long. You can start by teaching your children all the positions in a school building. Your children will have a well-rounded education, and learn they can be the janitor, lunchroom lady, and teacher’s aides.

REASON #2: Going on All The Field Trips that You Missed

You know the field trip in 3rd grade that you missed because you got sick that morning? You can take your children on that field trip every year!!!!! And make sure to schedule any other field trip that strikes your fancy.

AND THE #1 REASON to HOMESCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN: Saving Money!

You know the prom dress that your neighbor spent $500 on? Homeschool parents don’t ever listen to, “but everybody at school is spending that much” because they know that the other kids in their school don’t have $200 sneakers and $125.

No matter what your reason for homeschooling, I hope you enjoyed my top 10 reasons to homeschool. Do you have any additional ones to add?
