All Ohio Balloon Fest – Marysville, Ohio – Central Ohio

August 10-12, 2023

This family-friendly festival has people coming for miles to see balloons as they soar up into the air. Arrive early and stay late as you won’t want to miss out on the balloons, music, food, and fun. Make certain to pack up your own lawn chairs so you get to sit and enjoy the views.

Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Show – South West Ohio

August 10-13, 2023

This antique machinery show has tractors, entertainment, food and fun. It is located in Southwest Ohio.

Shaker Woods Festival – Columbiana, Ohio – North East Ohio

August 12-13, August 19-20, and 26-27, 2023

This outdoor festival in the woods offers more than 200 of the best craftspeople in the country. Each craftsperson is dressed in Shaker period clothing. St. Mary Funfest – Cincinnati, Ohio – Southwest Ohio

August 18-20, 2023

Who says that a church can’t throw an awesome festival? For four glorious days, you can join in on the St. Mary Funfest by eating delicious food from food trucks, gambling, dancing and listening to live music until the wee hours of the night. Don’t forget to bring extra cash so that the kids can enjoy the rides and cotton candy as well.

Bacon Fest 2023 – Kettering, Ohio (near Dayton) – Southwest Ohio

August 19, 2023

Keeping strong with its seventh festival, there’s really nothing that bacon can’t pair with. Don’t miss out on crispy or chewy bacon at the Bacon Fest 2019. Put on your walking shoes and stop at each location to taste test their spin on bacon.

This festival is free to attend and will also have live music planning throughout the entire duration.

Canfield Fair – Canfield, Ohio – North East Ohio

August 30 – September 4, 2023

This awesome county fair is one of the largest county fairs in the nation and is the largest county fair in the State of Ohio. Consisting of 353 acres and out-of-this-world grandstand acts, there is literally something for everyone at this county fair. Make sure to visit the antique tractor display and the Pumpkin Barn that will wow young and old alike.

Sweet Corn Festival, Millersport, Ohio – Central Ohio

August 30-September 1, 2023

Corn and Ohio – they just go together. This festival offers live entertainment, rides, food, and everything you want in a festival. But they best part is the corn. Corn nuggets, corn on the cob, corn eating contest, corn toss contest, and more corn fun! (Plus plenty of other food such as Fried Green Tomatoes, and Corn Dogs.)

Akron Pizza Fest – Akron, Ohio – North East Ohio

September 1-3, 2023

Calling all pizza lovers! The Akron Pizza fest is three days jam-packed full of pizza, food, and fun. Don’t miss out on the cornhole tournament…and if you’re super hungry, you can even sign up for a pizza-eating contest as well.

Ohio Renaissance Festival – Waynesville, Ohio (near Dayton) – South West Ohio

September 2-October 29, 2023

With over 100 live shows daily, you won’t want to miss out on the fun. There are fire jugglers and sword fighting, and that’s just the start. And no trip to the renaissance festival would be complete unless you chowed down on one of those giant and delicious turkey legs.

Ramseyer Farms Fall Festival Weekends – Wooster, Ohio – North East Ohio

September 1-October 31, 2023

This is definitely on my list of things to do. I have friends that visit Ramseyer Farms every year, and there is just so much to do at this farm. There are 3 corn mazes, animals, hayrides, slides, pedal carts, and all activities are included with your admission.

Antiques in the Woods – Shaker Woods, Columbiana, Ohio – North East Ohio

September 9-10, 2023

Shaker Woods is a favorite destination for our family. They have several festivals throughout the year and each is a fantastic mixture of craftsman, food, and entertainment. I try to attend at least one festival each year. Antiques in the Woods features a tractor-pull and Civil War Encampment.

Fall Festival Weekends – Whitehouse Fruit Farm, Canfield, Ohio – North East Ohio

September 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, September 30-October 1, October 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, 28-29, 2023

A family-run fruit farm offering horse-drawn wagon rides, play area, a pumpkin pavilion, food vendors, a petting zoo, pony rides, live music. Their homemade blueberry donuts have been eaten by celebrities including the New York Giants before the Super Bowl. (Could this be the reason for their win in 2012?) Additionally purchase apples, pumpkins, cider and more!

We hope that you have plenty of ideas to use those apples and pumpkins. Apple pies and cool fall nights are the perfect combinations!

Hungarian Fall Festival – Hiram, Ohio – North East Ohio

September 10, 2023

Join in on the Hungarian dancing and dine on delicious food. This one-day event is perfect for families and children of all ages to attend.

Stop and take the time to immerse yourself in different cultures whenever possible!

Johnny Appleseed Festival, Columbiana, Ohio – North East Ohio

September 16-17, 2023

Held in Ohio’s second-oldest village. The Johnny Appleseed festival features an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, apple pie eating contest, petting zoo, art show, entertainment, rides, and apples!

Old-Fashioned Christmas in the Woods – Columbiana, Ohio – North East Ohio

October 14-15, and 21-22, 2023

Another excellent festival in Shaker Woods. This one offers you a little bit of Christmas in October. Because of the weather in Ohio, this festival is held in the fall. 2023 is the 29th year of Christmas in the Woods, and the outdoor booths are decorated for the holidays. Additionally, the craftspeople are dressed in Christmas clothing from years gone by.
