What do you do for Bible teaching at your house? For much of my children’s homeschool Bible learning, we used the weekly Bible memorization program at church with additional Bible reading. Sadly, it wasn’t until High School that I started a “formal” Bible class. But we have never done a Bible class based on the archeology of the Bible. Until now. When I was asked to review Bible Unearthed by Drive Thru History® Adventures, I was intrigued. Is this a Bible course or a history course?

Marcus, my 17-year-old son, would be the one doing the work. Would he enjoy it? Of course, we have heard so much about Drive Thru History® Adventures, but we have never done one.

What is Drive Thru History® Adventures?

Produced by Dave Stotts, the man who has brought us the Drive Thru History videos. Stotts has a passion for history, and calls Drive Thru History® Adventures “Adventure Learning.” He has traveled the world and shares history on location to bring us a curriculum that truly makes learning an adventure.

With titles such as American History, Ancient History, and Acts to Revelations, these courses offer homeschooling families an adventure at home! But for the purpose of this review, I was given an advance copy of the course Bible Unearthed.

How Our Family Used Bible Unearthed by Drive Thru History Adventure?

With a high school student in my house, I thought this would be the perfect time to explore Bible Unearthed. Marcus has been watching the videos, reading the additional material provided, and learning more about archaeology.

Although I have been watching the videos (at a slower pace than Marcus), I am enjoyed them as much as he has. For this reason, I had to rely on him to let me know what he is learning! To accomplish this, we are going through the discussion questions together. Obviously, the material presented in these videos are just too important not to talk about.

My Final Recommendations: Drive Thru History® Adventures Bible Unearthed

In conclusion, Marcus has enjoyed learning about Biblical figures and the actual physical evidence proving their existence. Additionally, people that he has read about in the Bible such as Paul and Pharoah Ramses II (from the Biblical story of Moses), are made real by the proof of their existence.

Because this course helps Marcus not just have a head knowledge of the Bible, I can give it a big thumbs up. Indeed, it gives him concrete evidence that the Bible is not just a collection of made-up stories. Furthermore, he is really learning that the Bible is based on real people. While Marcus has already watched Episode 4, I am looking forward to finding out more about King David’s Palace. Yes, The King David!

Do you want you or your children to gain a deeper understanding of the Bible? Is it important that they have physical proof of Biblical events? If you have said yes, clearly, you will love Bible Unearthed.

Now I am just left pondering which Drive Thru History Adventures to use after we finish Bible Unearthed!
