If you are anything like me, you want everything perfect for holiday entertaining, but you just don’t have the time to do it all. Christmas cards, gift buying, wrapping presents. AND you have to continue your normal schedule. UGH!
Well, I will let you in on a little secret. I have created some easy-to-make appetizers that taste delicious and take no time at all! But it all starts with streamlining your shopping and preparation. Here are my 4 tips to help you this holiday season.
TIP 1: PREPARE QUICK AND EASY RECIPES THAT LOOK LIKE YOU SPENT ALL DAY: I have been doing this for years. Of course, there are some family recipes that require all day in the kitchen, but my go-to recipes for entertaining are quick and easy.
I selected the following appetizer menu: (Recipes to follow)
Creamy Yogurt/Cream Cheese Fruit and Cracker Dip
Creamy Spinach and Artichoke Dip served with Tortilla Chips
Market District Frozen Appetizers
Shrimp and Cocktail Sauce Cream Cheese Ball
and Tropicana Orange Juice and Watermelon Juice
TIP 2: DON’T SHOP AT MULTIPLE STORES: Shopping at one store is a must. Nobody has time to go grocery shopping at multiple stores. That is why Giant Eagle is my one-stop holiday shopping center. (They also have cards and gift wrap, plus gift cards for practically any store or restaurant which makes gift buying easy and painless).
I purchased everything I needed for my appetizers at my local Giant Eagle. I love how the aisles are clearly marked and I can find everything easily in the store.
Plus the shelves are clearly labeled so I can find the products and pricing just as quick.
Here is just a sampling of what I purchased. Giant Eagle has so many great name brands and their own brand products for me to have a great selection to choose from.
TIP 3: SHARE THE ENTERTAINING PREPARATIONS: My daughter decided to have a pop-up event for a friend. We both cleaned, and I took appetizers while she made desserts. What if you don’t have anyone to share the preparations with? I bet if you did a shout out on social media, you would find a friend willing to co-host a holiday party with you!
TIP 4: SHARE THE CLEAN-UP: My daughter and I both cleaned up after the party. (Although there wasn’t much left because the food was so yummy and delicious.)
